He is a Full Prof. in the Dept. of Biological Sciences at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where he teaches General Biology, Plant Morphology/Anatomy, and Professional Seminar lecture/lab courses. He received his Ph.D. from Cornell University, New York in Plant Biology. He was Visiting Professor at Univ. of Florida, Cold Spring Harbor Lab, Michigan State Univ, Florida State Univ, and Sabanci Univ. He's been the recipient of numerous prestigious academic awards, grants, and fellowships, including FAMU Advanced Teacher of the Year Award, FAMU Research Excellence Award, Student Recognized Best Professor.
